Job Summary

Responsible, in conjunction with the immediate supervisor, for shift output, quality, and yield in compliance with the requirements of current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP).

Responsibilities
  • Ensure that all products produced conform to the approved specification.
  • Ensure all materials required for the batch are booked in, documented accurately, and conform to the packaging instruction and batch packaging record.
  • Ensure sampling tests are carried out at the required frequency.
  • Conduct visual inspections at the required frequencies.
  • Liaise with the QA department for support in area/line clearances and any other specific quality issues that may arise during production.
  • Approve area/line clearances and pre-production samples as required and in accordance with defined procedures.
  • Collect QC samples as specified in the batch packaging record.
  • Ensure consistent adherence to operating, quality, machine cleaning, and safety procedures in production.
  • Report deviations to the immediate supervisor.
  • Monitor yields against goals and take timely corrective actions when necessary.
  • Address machine downtime in a timely manner.
  • Achieve the desired level of competency as outlined in the relevant training plan.
  • Ensure that all batch packaging records are completed accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Ensure that quantities of good products and rejects are accurately recorded.
  • Maintain excellent housekeeping standards and ensure that cleaning logbooks, LUMAC logs, and other production floor logs are completed and kept up to date.
  • Work positively with all Team Leaders, Engineers, and the Packaging Manager/Business Unit Manager at all times.
  • Ensure safe work practices are followed at all times and report any defects immediately to the Safety Officer, Packaging Manager, or Business Unit Manager.
  • Demonstrate flexibility regarding changes in shift patterns at short notice.
  • Carry out additional tasks as required from time to time in accordance with the overall goals of the company.
  • Assist in technical aspects and projects as required by the Packaging Manager.
