Production Planning Clerk
General Summary:
The Production Planning Clerk develops, structures, and maintains bills of material and routings needed for production or planning. This new position will act as the focal point between engineering and manufacturing/production. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that bills of material and routings accurately represent the production process and that all pertinent production personnel knows that bills/routings have been changed.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Copies Bill of Materials and Routing and makes changes that reflect manufacturing practice.
- Copies and maintains prime and alternate routings.
- Inputs and edits all Best Business Practice data into Routings.
- Maintains plant ECR / ECO procedures as related to Bill of Materials and Routings.
- Assists the Planner/Schedulers and Materials Support Specialist to meet department, plant and corporate targets as required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required - The successful candidate will have:
- Two years of production planning experience in a manufacturing environment (Bill/Routing exp preferred)
- A Diploma in a relevant discipline
- Excellent Typing skills (45 WPM Minimum)
- Problem identification and analysis.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office
- The ability to work cooperatively as a member of the materials team along with a focus on continuous improvement.
- High attention to detail, organisation skills and able to carry out assignments with moderate supervision.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and problem solving skills essential.
Preference will be given to candidates who have Bill of Materials and Routing experience. In addition, we will highly value candidates with an APICS certification.
