Production Scheduler

As a Production Scheduleryou will assume primary responsibility for the production schedule across all lines, optimising the flow of product through production, maximising OEE whilst ensuring all demands are scheduled to deliver customer requirements on-time in full.

You will be responsible for optimising the production schedule and making constant updates and changes to optimise the production schedule in response to all the things that happen in a busy FMCG production environment.

You will interact daily with Supply Chain Planning, Warehouse and Dispatch, Production Manager & Shift Managers, Engineering and Technical to ensure smooth and efficient processes for production.

Role Deliverables

  • To optimise the daily and weekly production schedule, engage with key stakeholders to drive operational efficiency while also optimising customer service and total costs to business
  • To schedule all production within required timeframe to meet customer orders and dispatch timelines
  • To constantly assess options to optimise production considering all moving parts, specifically in response to issues within a typical production environment across all production lines with regards to RM shortages, line performances, line downtime, spikes in customer demands, shortage of labour to Optimise OEE and labour costs.
  • To liaise with Maintenance and Engineering to ensure planned line downtime is scheduled
  • Update the production schedule throughout each day and ensure all teams are working with up-to-date information and are made aware of changes to production lines or production schedules
  • Determine labour requirements to meet the production schedule, Lean training, H&S training, manual packing & line trials and keep Production Manager updated on any changes throughout the month to ensure labour resources are optimised.
  • Attend daily and weekly meetings with Supply Planning to review any changes that may be required to the production schedule.
  • Update the Warehouse team daily with regards to material requirement to ensure raw materials availability is in-line with production schedule for next 72 hours
  • Liaise with the Raw Materials Buyer Planner weekly to ensure raw materials are available for the next months production requirements and working together on contingencies and options if there are potential raw material shortages.
  • Liaise with the Warehouse and Distribution Managers daily and weekly to ensure outbound loads are aligned with the production schedule and any changes to the schedule.
  • Liaise with Shift Managers, Warehouse and Planning daily regarding actual performance versus schedule and any changes required to the production schedule.
  • Liaising with Quality and Technical teams on Raw Materials and Finished Goods quality issues e.g. Goods on hold to adjust the plan to reflect any rejections or replacements ensuring that the Supply Chain Planning, Dispatch and Customer Services teams are aware of any potential impacts.
  • Liaise with the Technical team to ensure Line trials are scheduled as required.

Any other duties that might be reasonably required from time to time

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Third level qualification (desirable) in relevant technical or business-related discipline with at least 3 years production or supply chain planning experience in a high-volume FMCG manufacturing environment
  • Professional, ambitious, and dedicated, you can work independently and have a pro-active attitude
  • Has experience working effectively with cross functional teams
  • Has strong analytical skills and experience leading/ driving projects
  • You should enjoy working as part of a team and have a keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent communications, time management, organization, and presentation skills
  • Ability to form relationships with stakeholders and work with cross functional teams
  • Must have extensive experience with Microsoft Office suite e.g. excel and ability to manipulate and interpret data to drive business decisions.
