About the Role
Almac Pharma Services are seeking a highly skilled Production Team Leader for a key role within our Packaging Operations in Craigavon. This is a hands-on leadership role with responsibility for multiple packaging operations on shift, overseeing approximately 30 Operators and Senior Operators in a regulated, cGMP environment. We’re looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing setting and enjoys leading people to deliver consistent results with quality and safety at the core.
This position is ideal for individuals currently working as Team Leaders, Supervisors, Production Managers, or Shift Managers. The Production Team Leader will plan, organise and control packaging operations to ensure schedule adherence, quality excellence and efficient use of resources. You will be highly visible on the factory floor, working closely with Operators, Senior Operators and Production Technicians to keep operations running smoothly and proactively address issues as they arise.
What you’ll be doing
- Oversee multiple pharmaceutical packaging lines on shift, ensuring delivery against agreed production schedules
- Monitor production activity in real time, planning ahead for materials, components, equipment availability and pack rates
- Take prompt corrective action where deviations occur and communicate revised plans to shift management
- Lead, motivate and support a team of Operators and Senior Operators, creating a culture of accountability, teamwork and continuous improvement
- Manage performance reviews, probationary assessments, absences and return‑to‑work discussions in line with HR policy
- Support ongoing skills development, identifying training needs and setting clear goals for team members
- Communicate clearly with team members and management to ensure alignment, transparency and timely escalation of issues
What we’re looking for
- Degree (or equivalent qualification) OR significant relevant experience in a supervisory role within a pharmaceutical or other regulated manufacturing environment
- Proven experience leading and supervising operational teams, including work allocation and performance management
- Strong working knowledge of SOP‑driven environments and high standards of documentation and compliance
- Excellent attention to detail, time management and organisational skills
- Confidence using Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
- Ability to work using own initiative while contributing effectively as part of a wider team
