· To hold a specialist remit within the acute hospital setting, involving the design, implementation and evaluation of psychology services (consultation, assessment, intervention, strategic planning) to the target patient group in line with the National Strategy.

· To be responsible for the provision of a high quality Psychology service aligned to the hospital pathway for people with stroke and in accordance with established standards of professional practice

· To work with other member of the Psychology service and in conjunction with other acute stroke team members to co-ordinate and develop the service to meet the needs of the population it serves in line with the objectives of the organisation and the National Clinical Programme for Stroke.
