Psychologist, Principal Specialist

The overall purpose of the post is to assist the Principal Psychology Manager in the clinical governance of the service and to contribute to and support the development of the service in line with divisional operational plans.

The Psychologist, Principal Specialist for Adult Mental Health Services will provide operational governance, line-management and supervision as required for staff in their designated area, in addition to carrying a clinical caseload. The post-holder will also support the Principal Psychology Manager with designated departmental organisational tasks and projects relevant to the development of Mental Health Psychology Services, offering leadership to more junior staff as required.

The Psychologist, Principal Specialist will work clinically for 50% of the post. This will be in a clinical area of specialist interest or Community Mental Health Teams (CMHT) within Adult Mental Health as agreed with the Principal Psychology Manager and in meeting service needs and priorities.
