Quality and Patient Safety Programme Manager, Grade VIII

Purpose of the Role:

The purpose of this post is to implement and manage CHI’s quality and patient safety programme, with responsibility for a number of individual programmes as well as for coordinating quality and patient safety activities with colleagues managing other QPS programmes in line with CHI’s strategic and operational priorities.

CHI’s quality and patient safety programme encompasses the following areas:

Incident management

Enterprise risk management

Accreditation and standards

Clinical audit

Medication safety

Open

disclosure

Learning systems

Patient Feedback & Experience

Safe surgery

Radiation

safety

Measuring what matters

PPPGs infrastructure

Hospital-acquired infections

Quality improvement

Child safeguarding

Nutrition

Tissue viability

Sepsis

CARD

HFH programme

Medical device programme

Clinical handover

Essential Criteria:

· Academic qualification in healthcare, quality, patient safety or related field at a minimum of Level 6 on the Quality and Qualifications Ireland (QQI) framework

OR

· A professional qualification in a health-related area

· Previous relevant experience in programme management, patient safety and/or quality improvement in a healthcare setting

· Able to work across a wide portfolio with multiple concurrent projects and tasks to be prioritised and completed within required timeframes
