ALONE is a national organisation that supports and empowers older people to age happily and securely at home. We support individuals and their families, work with other organisations, and campaign nationwide to improve the lives of older people.
We work with all older people, including those who are lonely, isolated, homeless, living in poverty, or are facing other difficulties. We support them through these challenges to help them find long term solutions.
To manage the QMS and Compliance within ALONE, ensuring all quality and compliance standards are maintained throughout the organisation. To ensure continuous improvement processes are in place and implemented within all areas of ALONE.
You will report directly to the ALONE Head of Operations.
Create an annual Quality and Compliance plan specifying action plans and targets each year
Manage the Quality Management System within ALONE and maintain ISO 9001:2015
Support the organisation to develop quality procedures in conjunction with all departments
Review existing policies recommending improvements and how to implement them
Ensure a plan for gathering feedback from stakeholders is implemented with outcomes and recommendations used for continuous improvement
Maintain ALONE’s Risk Register ensuring risks are addressed in a timely and transparent manner
Review, enhance and maintain quality controls and documentation procedures
Manage and conduct an internal audit schedule and ensure continuous improvement across the organisation implementing and managing processes
Measure performance and identify any areas of weakness, recommending and implementing improvements
Have oversight on all accident and incidents to ensure organisational learning and actions are implemented
Lead and support other staff at all levels of ALONE in relation to carrying out their responsibilities in relation to quality and compliance
Facilitate and prepare for external audits
Create and implement training for all staff in relation to quality and compliance
Act as Data Protection Coordinator within the organisation, ensuring GDPR compliance across the organisation
Prepare regular reports for the Leadership Team and Board of Trustees
Ensure the Trustees Handbook is up to date and manage Board of Trustee Details on ALONEs CRM system
Any other duties within the general requirements of the above that may be assigned
Essential skills & experience
Strong attention to detail as you must be able to identify gaps and omissions in standards.
You must be results driven by improving company processes and meeting standards.
Have excellent communications skills to oversee the training of all staff on quality assurance standards pertaining to their particular roles. This may include giving presentations and conducting regular meetings.
Be Organised, overseeing the processes and productivity of various departments, the Quality Manager must possess strong organizational skills.
Be influential to get colleagues to follow them in their endeavour for superior quality processes.
Excellent Technological skills: to be able to create presentations, analyse data in spreadsheet and create informational materials to distribute to staff.
Excellent knowledge and understanding of legal standards
Excellent knowledge of quality control procedures
Data analysis: Much of a Quality Manager’s work is done by analysing the data from the company’s processes and identifying quality issues or opportunities for improvement.
The position is an initial 12 month fixed term contract. We work a 35-hour week. The position will require some travel. The salary scale offered for this position is €40,000 to €45,000, depending on skills and experience.
