Quality Control Checker

We have an exciting vacancy for a Quality Control Checker to join our busy and expanding team Quality team here at FLI Precast Solutions. Reporting to the Quality Manager, the role of the Quality Control Checker is to ensure all products are produced to Company quality standards and to prevent sub-standard products from distribution. The Quality Control Checker plays a pivotal role in maintaining the Company’s integrity and reputation with customers while ensuring production efficiency by minimizing errors, remakes and scrap product.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Work under the direction of the Quality Manager/Supervisor to carry out quality checks after demoulding stage predominantly.
  • Completion of quality checks at pre-pour stage in order to assist current quality team during busy/holiday periods.
  • Completion of Quality Control Checklist and other relevant paperwork as inspections are completed.
  • Liaise with the relevant department managers to highlight any remedial works that need to be carried out at a post-pour stage.
  • Coordinate with department managers in relation to units that require additional pours.
  • Take a proactive approach to identifying any quality issues.
  • Feed information about recurring quality issues back to Quality Manager and wider quality team.
  • Work as part of the quality team in efforts to promote a “Right First Time” approach to Quality.
  • Work with Post-Production Team to assist with problem-solving during post-production practices.
  • Plan the timing of quality checks throughout the day to ensure quality checks can be completed in a timely manner.
  • Performance of other Quality duties in other areas of the plant when required.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Prior experience in a quality control role an advantage, particularly within a manufacturing or construction sector.
  • Ability to read production drawings, reinforcement drawings and schedules essential.
  • Knowledge and understanding of precast concrete finishes.
  • Keen attention to detail.
  • Proactive approach to work and ability to pre-empt issues before they occur.
  • Analytical thinker with the ability to trouble-shooting issues.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to maintain open channels of effective communication with quality team and personnel from other departments.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and lead by example.
  • Flexibility.
  • Proficient in use of computers.
