Role Profile

Tirlán is offering an exciting internship opportunity for a third level student or recent graduate who is looking for experience in the food manufacturing sector. This opportunity would be perfect for someone who has an interest in working in a quality and production environment. This role is based in our GAIN Animal Nutrition site in Clonroche, Co. Wexford. This role has an August start date.

Responsibilities

• Collect, label and analyse samples

• Liaise with suppliers to ensure external analysis is completed in a timely manner

• Execute laboratory testing according to standard procedures

• Make observations and interpret findings during routine and non-routine testing

• Conduct experiments under defined conditions to verify/reject various types of hypotheses using refined scientific methods

• Organize and store chemical substances, fluids and samples according to safety instructions

• Record data and results in specified forms (paper and electronic) with accuracy and responsibility

• Maintain equipment and assist in ordering laboratory supplies

• Ensure all safety guidelines are followed strictly and at all times

• Maintain a clean and orderly environment

• Calibration of analysis equipment

• Assist with the successful completion of audits within mill operations (internal, customer, certification, regulatory)

• Assist with maintaining certifications

• Trending and reporting of Key Quality Metrics

Requirements

• High academic record to date and expected minimum of a 2.2 honours degree

• Record of high achievement and delivery

• Strong problem-solving skills

• Proven self-starter with the drive and desire to succeed

• Ability to work effectively in a team and independently

• Excellent leadership and communication skills

• A ‘can do’ attitude and willingness to learn and grow during internship
