The role:

Responsible for the management of all personnel within the Quality Department including Quality Assurance Manager and Quality Control Manager.

Develop and implement plans to launch new products and guarantee quality from product launch.

Implement systematic reviews of the Quality Department processes and operations to eliminate waste.

Design and implement quality systems that satisfy customer rating requirements.

Develop and implement techniques that measure process variability.

Develop control practices to assure the quality of incoming material.

Essential Criteria:

• Third level qualification in an engineering/ technical discipline 
• Candidates with a lesser qualification, plus significant relevant experience will also be considered
• Min. 5 years’ experience within an engineering/manufacturing environment 
• Min. 2 years’ experience in a management role in an engineering/manufacturing environment
• Knowledge of quality management systems, including TS16949 and ISO 9000
• Proven track record in the application of problem solving techniques, e.g. 5 Why, 8D, Six Sigma
• Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written
• Proven ability to lead and motivate staff
• Strong customer focus and teamwork skills 
• Ability to influence continuous improvement at Ryobi and within our customer and supply bases throughout Europe
• Planning, organising and project management skills 
• IT literate, and proficient in the use of MS Excel
• Presentation and negotiation skills
• Ability to work effectively on own initiative and effectively contribute within a team environment
• Ability to see activities through to completion
• Able to travel to suppliers and customers in order to fully satisfy the role

Desirable Criteria:

• Experience within the automotive industry
• Experience in managing Quality Assurance amongst a wide range of OEM’s throughout Europe 
• Lead Auditor training 
• Supplier auditing experience
