Quality Manager

The role:
  • Responsible for the management of all personnel within the Quality Department including Quality Assurance Manager and Quality Control Manager.
  • Develop and implement plans to launch new products and guarantee quality from product launch.
  • Implement systematic reviews of the Quality Department processes and operations to eliminate waste.
  • Design and implement quality systems that satisfy customer rating requirements.
  • Develop and implement techniques that measure process variability.
  • Develop control practices to assure the quality of incoming material.

    Essential Criteria:
    • Third level qualification in an engineering/ technical discipline 
    • Candidates with a lesser qualification, plus significant relevant experience will also be considered
    • Min. 5 years’ experience within an engineering/manufacturing environment 
    • Min. 2 years’ experience in a management role in an engineering/manufacturing environment
    • Knowledge of quality management systems, including TS16949 and ISO 9000
    • Proven track record in the application of problem solving techniques, e.g. 5 Why, 8D, Six Sigma
    • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written
    • Proven ability to lead and motivate staff
    • Strong customer focus and teamwork skills 
    • Ability to influence continuous improvement at Ryobi and within our customer and supply bases throughout Europe
    • Planning, organising and project management skills 
    • IT literate, and proficient in the use of MS Excel
    • Presentation and negotiation skills
    • Ability to work effectively on own initiative and effectively contribute within a team environment
    • Ability to see activities through to completion
    • Able to travel to suppliers and customers in order to fully satisfy the role

    Desirable Criteria:
    • Experience within the automotive industry
    • Experience in managing Quality Assurance amongst a wide range of OEM’s throughout Europe 
    • Lead Auditor training 
    • Supplier auditing experience
