Vision Contracting Ltd. are expanding our team and are currently looking to recruit permanent full-time Intermediate Quantity Surveyor to join our office based in our Head Office, Model Farm Road, Cork, and various sites as required in the Munster region.
You will have a direct reporting line to the Quantity Surveying Director and will primarily focus on supervising the financial aspects of construction projects, with a goal of efficient cost management and maximizing profitability.
The key activities
- Preparing and reviewing project budgets, estimates, and cost plans
- Conducting cost analysis and benchmarking against industry standards
- Negotiating pricing and contracts with vendors and suppliers
- Preparing tender documentation and evaluating bids
- Tracking expenses and generating progress reports
- Identifying potential cost savings opportunities
- Liaising with stakeholders, including project team members and clients
- Ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and standards
The Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, or related field
The person
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in Quantity Surveying, preferably within commercial/residential projects
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills
- Flexibility and have a talent for negotiation
- Ability to adapt, multitask and work on own initiative as well as part of a team
- Flexibility with the ability to prioritise work effectively
- Ability to work well under pressure and adhere to strict deadlines
- Positive attitude and a willingness to learn
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders
- Attention to detail, accuracy, and a proactive approach to managing project finances.
- Eligible to work in Ireland
- Full EU Driving License
