Vision Contracting Ltd. are expanding our team and are currently looking to recruit permanent full-time Intermediate Quantity Surveyor to join our office based in our Head Office, Model Farm Road, Cork, and various sites as required in the Munster region.

You will have a direct reporting line to the Quantity Surveying Director and will primarily focus on supervising the financial aspects of construction projects, with a goal of efficient cost management and maximizing profitability.

The key activities

• Preparing and reviewing project budgets, estimates, and cost plans
• Conducting cost analysis and benchmarking against industry standards
• Negotiating pricing and contracts with vendors and suppliers
• Preparing tender documentation and evaluating bids
• Tracking expenses and generating progress reports
• Identifying potential cost savings opportunities
• Liaising with stakeholders, including project team members and clients
• Ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and standards

The Qualification

• Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, or related field

The person

• Minimum of 3 years' experience in Quantity Surveying, preferably within commercial/residential projects
• Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills
• Flexibility and have a talent for negotiation
• Ability to adapt, multitask and work on own initiative as well as part of a team
• Flexibility with the ability to prioritise work effectively
• Ability to work well under pressure and adhere to strict deadlines
• Positive attitude and a willingness to learn
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders
• Attention to detail, accuracy, and a proactive approach to managing project finances.
• Eligible to work in Ireland
• Full EU Driving License
