What does this team do?

The Randox Laboratories Clinical Chemistry R&D Department are responsible for the design & development of diagnostic reagent kits. The team perform all design and development activities throughout the IVD development life cycle, including product concept, feasibility/optimisation, design verification, and clinical validation to support regulatory filings.

Location: Randox Science Park, 30 Randalstown Road, Antrim, BT41 4LH.
Contract Offered: Full-time, Permanent
Working Hours / Shifts: 4 day working week: 7:00-17:40.

What does the R&D Scientist role involve?

This role is responsible for the introduction of new diagnostics assays, improvement of existing assays, or the troubleshooting of external and internal product queries. This varied will require you to develop a varied skillset, including:
  • The meeting of targets on established R&D projects.
  • The familiarisation of current methods and technologies on a given project.
  • Detailed completion of reports demonstrating rigorous analysis of results.
  • Generation and upkeep of Design and Development Plans, Risk management activities and Design Specifications.
  • Continual improvement and assessment of existing products.
  • Transferring of product to manufacturing in accordance with company procedures.
  • The operation and routine maintenance of various types of departmental equipment and analytical instruments.
Who can apply?
Essential:
  • Minimum 2:1 in relevant Biomedical or Life Sciences related subject.
  • Demonstrable strong work ethic throughout studies or in work experience.
  • Demonstrable achievement during university or in a work place.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)

Desirable:
  • Previous experience in analysis and documentation of large datasets.
  • Relevant laboratory experience.
