Radiographer, Clinical Specialist, University Hospital

The Radiology Department of University Hospital Kerry, provides a diagnostic imaging service to the following areas / users:

· In-Patients including ICU//CCU

· Out-Patients

· Emergency Department

· Medical Assessment Unit

· Orthopaedic Theatre

· GP’s

· Dialysis, Oncology Dept., Palliative Care Dept. Cardiology Dept

The department also provides:

· General radiography services including portables, Theatre Radiography, C.T., Dental, and Ultrasound

· Fluoroscopy including Barium Enemas, Barium Swallow, HCG, Video Swallow and IR

· Two 24-hour emergency ‘on-call’ services for both general radiography and CT to hospital in-patients and the Emergency Department

Approximately 85,000 examinations per year are performed in the Radiology Department.
