Radiology - Registrar

Contract info: Commencing September 2026. 10 month contract.

The Department of Radiology at Mater Misericordiae University Hospital (MMUH) is inviting applications for the position of Radiology Registrar from September 2026-July 2027. This is an exceptional opportunity to train in one of Ireland's leading tertiary referral and academic teaching hospitals, offering exposure to a diverse case mix and nationally recognised specialist services.

About the Department

Mater Misericordiae University Hospital is a Level 4 hospital and Level 1 Major Trauma Centre, providing comprehensive acute and specialist services to patients from across Ireland. The hospital is the National Centre for Heart and Lung Transplantation and a leading centre for complex spinal surgery, delivering an outstanding breadth of pathology and imaging experience.

The Radiology Department provides a comprehensive imaging service across all major modalities, including:

• Computed Tomography (CT)
• Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)
• Positron Emission Tomography (PET-CT)
• Interventional Radiology
• Ultrasound
• General Radiography

Registrars gain extensive experience in both routine and highly specialised imaging while working alongside an experienced and supportive team of consultant radiologists.

The Role

The successful candidate will:

• Report and interpret a broad range of diagnostic imaging studies.
• Participate actively in multidisciplinary meetings and collaborative patient management.
• Contribute to the departmental out-of-hours and on-call rota, supported by an experienced consultant team.
• Develop skills in image-guided procedures and interventional radiology appropriate to their level of experience.
• Play an active role in departmental teaching, quality improvement, and research opportunities where appropriate.
