Job Summary

Beaumont Residential Care (www.brccork.com) is a 73 bed Cork nursing home with an excellent reputation, employing approximately 80+ staff. We have a vacancy currently for a part-time receptionist/ admin assistant, averaging 24 hours per week. This person will manage our front desk and be involved in a broad range of duties associated with the smooth running of this busy nursing home.

Candidates should be well organised, flexible, computer literate, and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Above all we seek individuals who have high professional and ethical standards and who have a genuinely warm/engaging manner, which is so important in this caring environment.

Candidates should:

have a pleasant / friendly / professional manner in dealing with residents, families, the public, and work colleagues

have an ability to work on own initiative and able to prioritise tasks in a busy work environment

be comfortable with the broad range of administrative and non-administrative tasks to be carried out

be proficient and comfortable using computers and familiar with standard packages such as Word and Excel

be flexible re working days as there will be a requirement to provide relief for holidays and sickness. Weekend and public holiday work will be required (rotating with other admin colleagues)

most importantly, have a genuine desire to attend to the needs of others, and to ensure the efficient and smooth day-to-day operation of the organisation

Duties include (among others):

welcoming guests and greeting residents and their families

answering, screening and forwarding incoming phone calls

writing and distributing emails, correspondence memos, letters, faxes and forms

performing clerical duties such as filing, photocopying, transcribing and faxing

assisting with regular checks and audits to comply with relevant regulations (health & safety, fire, maintenance etc)

preparing reports and maintaining appropriate filing systems

assisting with prospective admissions

ensuring that all duties are carried out in accordance with statutory requirements

Receptionist/Admin: 1 year (Preferred)
