Join us as a Reconciliation & Control Professional
The Reconciliation & Control Professional will fulfil a reconciliation and control role in the Customer Payments function. Running daily and monthly control reports and providing reconciliation support and assurance of customer payment operations. The role is also responsible for the timely reconciliation of transactional, sub ledger, billing, and bank data.
What else it involves:
- Reconcile financial & transactional events on a daily/weekly/monthly basis relating to customer payments and deposits and the associated bank accounts/ sales ledgers.
- Conduct sales ledger & bank reconciliations to ensure that all customer payments/deposits & related transactions are correctly accounted for.
- Deal with Payment Operations queries through to resolution.
- Ensure that deposits/refunds are correctly accounted for.
- Identify & resolve invalid transactions arising from reconciliation activities with the wider payments team and the outsourced service partner.
- Liaise with internal business areas to resolve erroneous transactions.
- Liaise with external vendors including outsourced service partner and Banks/Merchant Acquirers as required.
- Liaise with internal and external auditors regarding transactions and reconciliations.
- Preparation of monthly journals for the cash allocations functions.
- Provide reporting on Key Performance Indicators, monitoring the operational efficiency that the AR function is measured on including cash forecasting.
- Ensure up to date processes and procedures are in place, adhered to and communicated cross-functionally and erroneous or non-standard activities are flagged appropriately.
Applying Agile methodology to:
- Design, document, and enhance reconciliation processes in response to system changes, audit findings, and evolving operational requirements.
- Support project delivery and continuous‑improvement initiatives, contributing analysis, controls expertise, and process‑focused insight to ensure robust outcomes.
- Other reasonable requests as they occur from time to time.
The skills we are looking for :
- Excellent attention to detail
- Highly numeric and accurate
- Well-developed communication skills & Excel skills
- Team player with ability to work under own initiative
- Passionate about excellent customer service
Must Have: - Experience working in a payments/accounts receivable role
- Experience of reporting/database/Business intelligence tools
- Strong Excel skills
- Previous experience of bank reconciliations and cash allocation
Nice to Have: - Customer Services experience
- Experience of working Cross Functionally
- Experience with Oracle Financials
- A solid working knowledge of the Agile Heavy methodology, with the ability to apply core Agile principles in day‑to‑day delivery and process development.
