Job Description

Reporting to the Head of Student Records and Examinations, the Records Officer will lead a team of subject matter experts. The main duties and responsibilities of the post are as follows: • To lead, manage and motivate the Records Management team through an ambitious multi-year programme of business change that will redesign and transform how processes are performed and services delivered to staff and students. • In consultation with the Head of Office and other stakeholders, the Records Officer will champion process changes and operational improvements that will generate measurable benefits for both staff and students. • Develop further synergies with the Student Central to evolve the student service delivery model to meet the expectations and needs of students and graduates. • The Records Officer will provide subject matter expertise on all aspects of student record management, progression, certification and graduation. This role will ensure that this expertise is proactively shared and developed across the team through training of new and existing team members and the development and maintenance of standard operating procedures. • He\She will work closely with other members of the SREO management team and members of Academic Services Management Team and Academic Schools/Departments to help inform and successfully deliver key academic policy and strategic changes that impact the student administration lifecycle. This will include initiatives such as Recognition of Prior Learning, Credit Accumulation, Micro-Credentials, and the implementation of partnership agreements. • Provide the oversight and management of registration, the US federal loan scheme, Canadian Loan scheme, student ID card issuance and progression of students and the maintenance and integrity of the permanent student record. • Lead a cross-functional group within the Registry responsible for preparing communications, systems, space and staffing to support the annual cycle of student registration at the start of each Academic Year. • Manage the provision of the necessary graduand data for parchment production to the National University of Ireland for each conferring ceremony. • Represent the office appropriately at different fora within the university, deputising for the Head of Office as and when required. • Manage the organisation of the graduate constituency for elections to the Governing Body when they arise. • Uphold SREO’s long-standing student-centric approach that supports and engages a growing and diverse student body.

Note: as the University continues to expand and evolve, flexibility in regard to the allocation of specific duties will be necessary. Accordingly the list of duties detailed above is not intended to be exclusive or restrictive, duties may be added or withdrawn but any such alterations will take place within the remit of the Head of School/Department/ and after consultation with the appointee.

Salary Scale: €62,252 - €78,854 (Scale B) / €59,233 - €74,913 (Scale A).
