Up to €38,000 depending on experience

The Regional Coordinator will support and grow Hygiene Hub’s national volunteer-led community network. This role focuses on activating local communities, strengthening existing Hygiene Hubs, and coordinating the setup of new Hubs through volunteer recruitment and engagement. The post-holder will work with volunteers, schools, corporate groups, volunteer centres, and county councils to build strong, inclusive, community-driven activity.

Key Responsibilities1. Community Development and New Hub Setup
  • Identify new communities where a Hygiene Hub is needed and support local readiness

  • Recruit and prepare volunteer teams for new Hubs, coordinating initial meetings and onboarding.

  • Provide clear processes, guidance, and tools to help new Hubs launch smoothly.

  • Build capacity within communities so volunteer teams feel confident running their Hub independently.

2. Volunteer Recruitment and Engagement
  • Grow volunteer participation through links with volunteer centres, schools, corporate groups, and county councils.

  • Manage the volunteer application and onboarding process via Salesforce to ensure timely, positive engagement.

  • Host community events, info sessions, and volunteer meet-ups to support connection and belonging.

  • Expand the corporate volunteering programme and coordinate meaningful opportunities that support Hub activity.

3. Supporting and Strengthening Local Hubs
  • Provide ongoing support to existing Hub volunteer teams, offering guidance, check-ins, and problem-solving.

  • Match volunteers to roles based on interests and skills.

  • Act as a responsive point of contact for volunteers, fostering a supportive and inclusive culture.

  • Support national campaigns and local community engagement activities.

4. School, Corporate, and Community Activation
  • Build relationships with schools to encourage student and staff involvement in volunteering or collection drives.

  • Collaborate with corporate partners to design impactful community volunteering opportunities.

  • Coordinate volunteer involvement in local collections, events, and awareness activities.

5. Systems, Reporting, and Continuous Improvement
  • Maintain up-to-date volunteer and Hub information through Salesforce.

  • Produce internal updates on community engagement, Hub setup progress, volunteer activity, and emerging needs.

  • Gather and integrate feedback from volunteers and communities to strengthen future practice.

Key RequirementsEssential
  • Experience in volunteer management, community engagement, or a similar role.

  • Experience in the non-profit or charity sector.

  • Ability to recruit, support, and motivate volunteers.

  • Strong networking skills and confidence engaging with schools, volunteer centres, corporate groups, and community stakeholders.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong organisation and time-management skills, with the ability to balance multiple priorities.
