This post will run from 13th July 2026 to 11th July 2027. This post will be incorporated to a focused Acute Medicine ultrasound course qualification and will involve added Supervision to gain FAMUS accreditation by the end of the year with accredited FAMUS supervisors within the University Hospital Kerry. This post is designed to be attractive towards doctors who are coming out of their basic specialist training and looking to develop a skill which will enhance their ability for recruitment into speciality training within Ireland ongoing from here, focused to keep medicine ultrasound is an important developing skill of all practising clinicians. University hospital Kerry is placed in a unique position to offer you supervision in this evolving area, given the volume of Medical Practitioners and Consultants within the hospital to provide appropriate supervision.

Contract Type:

Fixed Term, Wholetime

Candidates must have the following:

  • Hold full MRCPi
  • Registration with the Irish Medical Council.
  • Valid up to date ACLS Certificate
  • Have Passed the IELTS / OET Exam if applicable. All NCHDs taking up employment with the HSE who were not registered by the Medical Council in any divisions of the Register of Medical Practitioners prior to the 01/01/2015, or who did not complete the entirety of their under-graduate medical training in the Republic of Ireland, are required to provide evidence of IELTS or OET or completion of their medical degree in any of the following countries – UK, Australia, Canada, New Zealand or United States.
