As an Acting Regulatory Models Manager, your role is to support your Senior Manager in leading the team’s responsibility for delivery of the bank’s Credit Risk model development agenda. The models underpin the quantification of credit loss for the Balance Sheet and Profit & Loss including regulatory capital requirements and impairment provisions.


Responsibilities:

Leadership and Change

  • Manage the delivery of IRB credit model development in a timely and accurate manner for both internal and external requirements.
  • Ensure that models are built in line with relevant regulatory guidance and to best practice internal standards and remain fit for purpose through, for example, appropriate backtesting.
  • Ensure that models are tracked, redesigned or re-calibrated in line with the corporate calendar based on business need.

Performance Management

  • In support of the senior management of the team, develop the behaviours and performance of team members through effective performance development and performance reviews.
  • Conduct team meetings and provide the team with mentoring and development opportunities to enable them to develop their skills.
  • Identify areas where further training and development maybe required. Facilitate team training sessions and development as required.

Risk Assessment

  • Identify areas where further training and development maybe required. Facilitate team training sessions
  • Support the department’s requirements to conform to the bank’s Risk Strategy including Risk Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) and Internal Control Framework.
  • Ensure that risk events are reported on time and with full details outlining root cause, remediation and preventative actions.

Other Activities

  • Effectively communicate findings and insights gathered through model development to the Regulatory Models management team and internal partners.
  • Ensure a high standard of documentation is maintained on an ongoing basis in line with internal standards and the internal control framework.

Requirements:

  • 2:1 Honours Bachelor’s Degree (NFQ Level 8) in a mathematical/statistical/computer science or associated subject area.
  • Highly proficient in SAS.
  • Have a number of years’ experience leading and delivering projects in a credit risk modelling environment i.e. building, maintaining and/or validating credit models.
  • Detailed knowledge of the regulatory/compliance landscape particularly IRB regulation. Knowledge of CRR/CRDIV and EBA requirements.
  • Knowledge of statistical techniques (such as regression, time series, decision trees, scorecards, experimental design etc.).

This is a 12 month FTC role based inSt Stephen’s Green(Hybrid Options available within Republic of Ireland only)
