Relief Personal Assistant wanted to support a woman with a disability to live independently in her own home and community

Hours: Relief contract

Location: Trim area Co. Meath

Salary: Competitive rates depending on experience, including antisocial and Sunday rates.

About the role

We are seeking a compassionate, reliable and motivated relief Personal assistant to provide person centred support to a woman with a physical disability. The successful candidate will play an important role in supporting her independence, choice and quality of life within her own home and community.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide assistance with personal care while promoting dignity and independence
• Support daily living activities and household tasks
• Assist with attending appointments and community activities

Qualifications/requirements

• QQI FETAC Level 5 in Health Care or an equivalent qualification/experience
• Understanding of disability and the Independent Living philosophy
• Knowledge of infection prevention and control procedures
• Good understanding of food hygiene practices
• People Moving and handling training
• Available to attend mandatory training
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Full clean driving licence
• A caring reliable and flexible approach to supporting others

The successful candidate must be eligible to work in Ireland. Applicants for the position must provide suitable references and employment offers are contingent on the completion of Garda Vetting.
