Job Summary (Short Description)

Galway University Hospital invites applications for a dual-role Research Registrar in Clinical Cancer Trials / Medical Oncology. This 12-month fixed-term post combines clinical research responsibilities with medical oncology service delivery, supporting both the Cancer Trials Team and Oncology Day Ward Unit.

Candidate Requirements
Candidates should have experience in clinical trials (preferably cancer clinical trials) or clinical research, and/or medical oncology experience at Registrar level.

Role Overview
This post is a dual role comprising:

  • 0.5 WTE providing medical support to the Cancer Trials Team, including care of medical oncology patients participating in clinical trials
  • 0.5 WTE providing support to the Medical Oncology team, contributing to the expansion of capacity within the Oncology Day Ward Unit

Contract Details

  • Fixed-term, 12-month contract

Career Progression
There is potential for this role to progress to a Fellow position in Cancer Clinical Trials Research from 2027, subject to application.
Therefore, more senior or experienced candidates may be preferred.
