The INFANT Research Centre was established in 2013 and is dedicated to maternal and child health research. The overarching vision of INFANT is to advance maternal and child health translational research and to place Ireland to the forefront of this field. INFANT is hosted by University College Cork (UCC), co-located in CUH and CUMH and is focused on delivering scientific excellence and impact through a range of activities in academic, translational and commercial areas. The INFANT team is a diverse group of clinicians and scientists who are supported by selected industry partners, international collaborators and business and regulatory advisors. The Centre is funded by a range of national and international funding agencies, EU, industry and philanthropy.
Applications are now invited for the position of Research Support Officer Administration – Finance Manager. This key role will report directly to the Director of INFANT and collaborate closely with the INFANT Executive Management Team, Principal Investigators and colleagues on all matters relating to the financial management, budgeting, financial reporting and administration of INFANT. This will include the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual accounts and budgets. It will also involve supporting INFANT researchers’ funding proposals in the budgeting of same. The Finance Manager (Research Support Officer - Administration) will ensure compliance with internal and external auditing, and provide guidance and support for INFANT co-applicants in regard to research spend and related financial matters. The Finance Manager (RSO- Administration) is responsible for all aspects of the INFANT budget, including all other associated research projects that fall under the remit of INFANT and will liaise with all relevant project managers and stakeholders to ensure timely and appropriate allocation, spending and control of the budget. The Finance manager (Research Support Officer- Administration) will provide regular reporting and projection analysis to advise Senior Management on financial issues and inform future financial planning. S/he will build and develop relationships with key finance function stakeholders in partner academic institutions, industrial partners and UCC Finance Office.
