There is currently one specified purpose whole-time vacancy available in Pathology Laboratory at Regional Hospital Mullingar
A panel may be formed as a result of this campaign for Laboratory ICT lead from which current and future specified purpose vacancies of full or part-time duration may be filled.

Purpose of Post:
To perform, routine, specialized, and research and development testing to the highest professional standards for the greater need of the patients.
The fundamental philosophy guiding this position is that the Post Holder will take any and all measures that will ensure that Laboratory tests are performed and reported within a Quality Management framework and that the Department operates to the requirements of ISO 15189: 2022 ‘Medical Laboratories Particular Requirements for quality and Competence’ and to Best Practice as to ensure Quality and Safety of the Haematology service provided.
Eligibility Criteria
Qualifications and/ or experience
2026 Graduates
Candidates who are graduating as Medical Scientists in 2026 are eligible to apply for this campaign.
Please note: applicants who are successful at interview will not be offered a post until compliant with the eligibility criteria below
1.Statutory Registration, Professional Qualifications, Experience, etc
For Medical Scientist Candidates for appointment must:
(i) Be registered on the Medical Scientists Register maintained by the Medical Scientists Registration Board at CORU. See https://coru.ie/aboutus/registration-boards/medical-scientists-registration-board/apply-forregistration/
AND
(viii) Demonstrate evidence of Continuous Professional Development.
AND
Candidates must have the requisite knowledge and ability (including a high standard of suitability, management, leadership and professional ability) for the proper discharge of the duties of the office.
Annual registration
(i) On appointment, practitioners must maintain annual registration on Medical Scientists Register maintained by the Medical Scientists Registration Board at CORU
And
(ii) Practitioners must confirm annual registration with CORU to the HSE by way of the annual Patient Safety Assurance Certificate (PSAC).
Character
Each candidate for and any person holding the office must be of good character
