Role: Risk & Safety Officer
Location: Tullamore or Mullingar (Hybrid working may be available after 12 weeks employment)
Tenure: Permanent (Full-time)
The Risk & Safety Officer will work with the QRS Manager to identify, assess, and manage risks within the organisation. This position is responsible for ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, developing risk management strategies, and providing guidance to various departments to mitigate potential risks. The Risk & Safety Officer will promote a positive health and safety culture within the organization and will be part of a dynamic QRS team in the support and implementation of Muiriosa’s strategic priorities.
The successful candidates must be able to demonstrate the following:
- Relevant recognised Third Level Qualification in the field of Risk Management, Health and Safety, or Healthcare
- .Alternative relevant professional qualification at this level relevant to the role.
- Relevant experience in risk management and assessment in the workplace.
- Experience of working in a role with an element of health and safety.
- Managing staff in line with organisational policies.
- Experience of working of the community/voluntary/public sector desirable.
- An excellent understanding of regulatory frameworks with the ability to implement in practice across the organisation.
- Willingness and ability to travel between locations as required.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Excellent data input skills
- Strong working knowledge of Systems, Databases, Word and Excel.
- Excellent organisational, logistical and I.T skills an advantage.
- Understanding and commitment to Muiríosa’s Vision, Mission & Values.
- The ability to organise own work in order to manage multiple priorities.
- Displays professional knowledge and skills in order to undertake role.
- Initiative and Motivation.
- Experience in building and maintaining relationships with colleagues and stakeholders to assist performing the role.
- The ability to present information clearly, concisely, and confidently when speaking and writing.
- Work on their own initiative as well as being a team player supporting their colleagues.
- The ability to work with the team to facilitate high performance, developing clear and realistic objectives.
- Keep up to date with best practice with desire to learn new skills with a continuous improvement attitude.
- Flexible and capable of managing competing priorities within their workload.
- Excellent attention to detail required.
