About the role

We are recruiting for an RD&A Technician to join our Beverages team in Naas, this is a key role where you will be supporting the wider team by preparing samples and following a set recipe, as well as sample dispatch to customer with relevant information and documentation within agreed timelines.

For this role you will be based from our Global Technology and Innovation Centre in Naas, Ireland

What will I be doing?

  • Supporting the wider team to maintain QSHE compliance with laboratory standards
  • Supporting the team with the preparation of recipes, manufacture of samples
  • Managing new flavour samples in the laboratory, including stock management, ordering of raw materials from external sites and maintenance of raw material traceability documentation
  • Preparation of finished products for internal tastings/sensory assessments and dispatch to customers
  • Carrying out trials to assess the suitability of new Taste technologies in alcohol applications
  • Attending weekly team meetings, providing updates on workload and priorities to the wider team
  • Working within set ways of working, including documentation of laboratory work and keeping up to date with project administration

What do I need to be successful?

  • Scientific approach to work and attention to detail essential.
  • Experience working in beverage or food industry would be an advantage.
  • Self-motivated
  • Scientific approach to problem solving
  • Team player
  • Good personal and communication skills
  • Problem-solving and handling of diverse laboratory equipment (mechanical, analytical, electronics, software).
  • Results driven – focused and motivated to deliver agreed deadlines
  • Desire to work in Science, at the interface between Biology, Chemistry and Engineering.
  • Proficiency with Excel or other data processing software.
  • Preference for working in an applied R&D environment: deals well with change, has a constructive approach dealing with setbacks and unforeseen situations, enjoys seeing the impact of own contributions into new processes and products.
  • Time-management skills; flexibility to cope with variable workloads and time requirements.
  • Clear and structured communication, both verbal and written.
