The group consists of a network of 12 stores, as well as a Truss Manufacturing plant and 3 Hardwood & Sheet Material branches. McMahons offer a one stop shop offering, with a wide range of products catering for the Builder, DIY enthusiast and Home Owner. McMahon’s extensive product range includes building materials, plumbing & heating, timber & sheeting, insulation, plant & tool hire, painting & decorating, doors & floors, bathrooms, garden and outdoor and much more.

The Role

McMahons are now seeking applications for the position of a Picker & Forklift Driver for their Roof Truss Manufacturing plant located in Fermoy Co. Cork.

The responsibilities of the successful candidate will include the following:

• Moving trusses, loading the lorry and securing the load
• Unloading and putting away deliveries
• Rotating stock in the yard
• Preparing job packs – organising timber for the sawyers
• Picking timber to ensure efficiency and reduce waste
• Picking metal work for each job pack
• Complete forklift checklists as required
• Assisting with the stock management at the branch including stock taking and cycle counting.
• Following company policies and procedures from an operational and health and safety perspective.

The Person

The following mix of experience and attributes will be required by the successful candidate:

• Experience in a yard / warehouse environment
• Forklift experience is a must (combi forklift experience a benefit).
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• A positive can-do attitude.
