Castlemartyr Resort is currently recruiting for a Sales and Marketing Executive

A brief overview of Role:

We are delighted to present an excellent opportunity to represent the 5-star Castlemartyr Resort as Sales and Marketing Executive.

Joining an award-winning, professional and enthusiastic team, the successful candidate will be part of a passionate, experienced sales and marketing team tasked to achieve and exceed budgets.

The key focus will be on achieving the strategic and tactical activities set out in the Sales and Marketing Plan along with driving sales and implementing new ideas.

A key part of this role will be assisting in the proactive management of existing clients to ensure their continued satisfaction and custom, as well as building new client relationships in order to gain new business in all target markets.

Purpose of the role:

To be a proactive member of the Castlemartyr Sales & Marketing Team and to work towards achieving and exceeding the property’s sales budget.

To maximise sales for the resort and for all group properties through proactively fulfilling planned and ad hoc sales & marketing activities including the design and production of collateral, management of digital marketing channels, proactive management of social media sites, capturing of PR and advertising opportunities and proactively driving sales. To liaise with IT and system providers to ensure the efficient and effective operation of departmental systems. To liaise and assist hotel operation teams with departmental marketing and promotions.

Candidate requirements:

  • Degree level education in marketing or hotel management
  • Experience in graphic design and knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud or Canva is an advantage
  • Experience, and a keen interest, in sales, digital marketing & PR
  • Target-driven and self-motivated.
  • Proactive and driven with a desire to meet and exceed targets
  • Thorough understanding of the importance of Customer Experience and uncompromising standards of excellence
  • Excellent attention to detail with regard to written content & presentation, both in-person and online
  • Excellent Communication, Organisational & Negotiation Skills – schedule management, timelines/time management, future planning, collaborating with & positively influencing clients, colleagues, and stakeholders
  • Proactive Problem-Solving Skills – for system issues, for customer care & sales target challenges
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (& knowledge of Hotsoft Property Management System is a bonus)
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal – the ability to clearly communicate with and present to existing & potential customers, suppliers, management, and staff across a variety of nationalities and experience levels
  • Ability to use analytical tools in order to monitor and improve performance and report on the same
  • Energetic, Friendly, Approachable, Professional, Courteous, and Well Groomed. A Positive attitude & outgoing nature
  • Ability to work as part of a team and independently
  • Fluency in English is essential
  • Required to work flexible hours
  • Possess a clean driving record and has transportation to travel to and from offsite meetings

Tasks & Responsibilities:

This list is comprehensive but not complete.

  • Responsible for the development and fulfillment of the digital marketing strategy for the property including management of social media platforms
  • To update the resort’s website content and special offers on an ongoing basis as directed by the Sales & Marketing Director
  • To ensure that the resort’s booking engine content is current, correct, and chronological
  • To manage the content on all 3rd party and affiliate websites and ensure that relevant content, imagery, and special offers are available in order that revenue is maximized
  • To manage & develop/grow the hotels’ existing marketing databases by market segment and identify and implement measurable marketing campaigns specifically and appropriately targeting those segments (spa, food & beverage, Golf, etc.)
  • Responsible for measurable promotion activities in order to fill places at events taking place on property
  • Responsible for seasonal promotions to drive business to the hotel e.g. Christmas marketing campaign
  • To identify and promptly participate in appropriate marketing opportunities that arise via 3rd parties e.g. International Brand, Tourism Ireland etc.
  • To conduct research to identify & develop new business opportunities
  • To promptly action information requests coming into the sales office and ensure that customers and potential customers’ needs are addressed and attended to promptly
  • To manage e-mail, social media messaging & posts to ensure enquiries are dealt with promptly
  • To assist the group sales team with administration, research and the execution of the sales & marketing plan
  • To organise & conduct showrounds, client events, FAM trips, consumer/tradeshows & networking events (including evening & weekend events)
  • To manage the VIP arrivals and in-house guest amenities & activities
  • To manage the sales lead process on property
  • To develop, update & maintain written/electronic materials for distribution to customers such as ezines
  • To analyse advertising calls/e-mails & highlight/capture appropriate promotional opportunities
  • To take responsibility for the renewal of online and offline listings and directories & ensure that the content is correct & that the property is advertised and represented appropriately
  • To ensure all business quoted for is in line with hotel budget requirements
  • To distribute promotional literature in person or via post/electronically
  • Support the Sales & Marketing Director with the design of digital & print promotional documentation
  • To take on sales/marketing projects as directed by the Sales & Marketing Director
  • To maintain & develop account management information
  • To coordinate the social media strategy & to achieve targets set by the Sales & Marketing Director
  • To implement tactical promotions in line with the hotel’s trough periods
  • Responsible for ensuring that departmental procedures and standards are adhered to and for the development and implementation of new procedures where appropriate and in agreement with the Sales & Marketing Director
  • Responsible for assessing all new marketing opportunities and presenting viable options to the Sales & Marketing Director
  • Responsible for ensuring that all enquiries are responded to professionally, using the departmental standards and within the stipulated departmental response turnaround standard so that sales and reputation are maximised.
  • To assist the reservations/meetings & events office with overflow enquiry calls and to ensure that appropriate enquiries are converted whenever possible
  • Generation of sales and marketing reports
  • Manage the sales office administration as directed by the Sales & Marketing Director
