Job Description

Sports Direct is seeking a Part-Time Sales Assistant to join our store in Longford, Ireland. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a dynamic retail team in the sports retail sector. As a Sales Assistant, you will play a key role in delivering outstanding customer service whilst maintaining our store standards and supporting our sales objectives. This part-time position offers flexibility and the chance to develop valuable retail experience in a fast-paced environment.

• Provide friendly and efficient customer service, assisting customers with product selection and enquiries

Operate the till and payment systems accurately, handling cash and card transactions with care

• Stock shelves and displays, ensuring products are well-organised, clearly priced, and visually appealing

• Maintain store cleanliness and organisation, adhering to company standards and health and safety procedures

• Develop product knowledge of our sports and leisure range to make informed recommendations to customers

Support the team in achieving sales targets through positive engagement and upselling where appropriate

• Receive and process deliveries, checking stock accuracy and rotating merchandise as required

• Follow company policies and procedures, reporting any issues or concerns to management

• Contribute to a supportive and collaborative team environment

Qualifications

Strong communication and people skills with a customer-focused approach

• Reliability, punctuality, and the ability to work flexibly within part-time hours

• Previous retail or customer service experience (desirable)

• Experience operating a till or point-of-sale system (desirable)

Physical capability to lift, carry, and stand for extended periods

• Ability to work effectively as part of a team

• Organisational skills and attention to detail

• Willingness to learn and develop within a retail environment

• Knowledge of sports and leisure products (desirable but not essential)
