ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
The Sales Executive will play a key role in the Sales and marketing Team driving revenue and increasing the hotel's profile within the local, regional and wider Irish market.
Working closely with Reservations, Front Office, Food & Beverage and Conference & Banqueting teams, the Sales Executive will actively identify new business opportunities, develop existing client relationships and promote the hotel's bedrooms, meetings and events facilities, weddings, leisure facilities and other revenue-generating services.
The successful candidate will be commercially focused, highly organised and confident in building strong relationships with corporate clients, local businesses, event organisers and leisure customers.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Business Development
- Proactively identify and develop new business opportunities within the local and regional market.
- Research and target potential corporate, leisure, conference, wedding and group business.
- Conduct sales calls, client visits, appointments and presentations.
- Promote the hotel's bedrooms, conference and meeting facilities, weddings, food and beverage offerings and leisure facilities.
- Develop and maintain a strong database of corporate and local business contacts.
- Generate leads through telephone calls, email campaigns, networking, referrals and local business engagement.
- Follow up on all enquiries and quotations in a timely and professional manner.
- Convert enquiries into confirmed business wherever possible.
- Achieve agreed individual and departmental sales targets.
Account Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing corporate and key accounts.
- Regularly contact clients to identify future business opportunities and understand their requirements.
- Develop preferred supplier and corporate agreements where appropriate.
- Maintain accurate records of client activity, enquiries, quotations and confirmed business.
- Monitor account performance and identify opportunities to increase revenue.
- Provide excellent customer service before, during and after each booking or event.
Meetings, Events & Groups
- Support the sales process for conferences, meetings, private functions, group bookings and events.
- Work closely with the Conference & Banqueting team to ensure client requirements are understood and communicated.
- Arrange site inspections and client appointments.
- Prepare proposals, quotations and presentations.
- Follow up on enquiries and lost business to identify opportunities for future conversion.
- Attend networking events, trade shows and promotional activities on behalf of the hotel.
Local Business Development
- Develop strong relationships with businesses, organisations and community groups throughout Tullamore, Offaly and surrounding counties.
- Identify opportunities for partnerships, corporate rates, accommodation packages and promotional initiatives.
- Represent the hotel professionally within the local business community.
Sales & Marketing Support
- Work collaboratively with the Marketing team to support sales campaigns and promotional activity.
- Assist with creating sales materials, presentations and client communications.
- Promote hotel offers, packages and seasonal campaigns.
- Support social media and digital marketing initiatives where appropriate.
- Assist with familiarisation visits, client events and promotional activities.
Administration & Reporting
- Maintain accurate sales records, activities and customer information.
- Keep the hotel's CRM/database up to date.
- Prepare regular sales activity reports for the Sales Director /General Manager on performance and forecast future sales trends.
- Monitor conversion rates, sales activity and revenue opportunities.
- Ensure all enquiries and leads are followed up appropriately.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding client and hotel information.
Customer Service
- Deliver a consistently high level of professional customer service.
- Act as a positive ambassador for the hotel at all times.
- Deal professionally with client queries, feedback and complaints.
- Develop long-term relationships rather than focusing solely on individual bookings.
- Ensure the customer experience reflects the hotel's standards and values.
Key Skills & Requirements
Essential:
- Previous experience in a sales, business development, account management or customer-facing role.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organisational and time-management abilities.
- Commercial awareness and a target-driven approach.
- Confident telephone, email and face-to-face communication skills.
- Ability to build and maintain professional relationships.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Proficient IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
Desirable Qualifications
- Previous hotel, hospitality, tourism or events experience.
- Experience in hotel sales, corporate sales, conference & banqueting or wedding sales.
- Existing knowledge of the local business market.
- Experience using a hotel PMS, CRM or sales management system.

- Proven experience working in a high paced sales environment (preferably the hospitality industry
