School Liaison Officer

Purpose of Position:

Responsible for promoting NCI programmes to second level school and Further Education institutions. This role is a full-time role but strong applicants who are available to work a term-time arrangement from September to end May will also be considered.

The role will involve a range of promotional activity to prospective students from second level schools, post leaving certificate and institutes of Further Education. A key part of the role will be visiting schools and colleges and presenting to students on the programmes that NCI offer, in particular full-time undergraduate programmes recruited through the CAO process. The role will involve extensive local travel to schools during the school terms.

Director of Marketing and International Development

Key Relationships:

  • Director of Marketing and International Development
  • Admissions Officer.
  • Career Guidance Counsellors / School Principals.
  • Career Guidance Representative Bodies.
  • Deans of Schools.

Key Responsibilities:

  • The planning, arrangement, and delivery of presentations about the college to Schools, PLC’s and other institutes. This will include visits out to schools and NCI campus visits by schools.
  • A key responsibility will be to develop and manage a close relationship with Career Guidance Counsellors within the target schools for NCI.
  • Manage the relationship building approach to key schools and contacts.
  • Marketing and promotion of NCI undergraduate programmes to key market segments at exhibitions and fairs throughout Ireland.
  • Maintain a database of contacts for guidance counsellors and schools.
  • Implement a range of promotional activities to increase the number of current full and part- time NCI students progressing to an additional NCI programme.
  • Additional marketing and administration tasks as required.
  • There will be some evening and weekend work to facilitate attendance at school career evenings, education fairs etc.

Specific purpose - 9 Month Contract (commencing August 24)


€23,297 - €34,685 (Support Salary Band)

Annual Leave: 

24 Days per annum pro rata

What we do with your data

People who are directly employed by NCI and are based in Ireland process all the personal data collected for both recruitment and HR purposes.


HR draft up the shortlisting documents and provide the initial screening to determine if a person meets the essential criteria of the competition. A shortlisting panel is generally made up of two senior grade staff members from the relevant department for which the role is being recruited.

Sharing of your data

Where you have been successfully shortlisted for a post, each interview panel member will be furnished with a copy of the relevant information of those who will be attending interview in order that they can review applications in advance of the interview process. All such information will be returned to NCI and shredded following the competition process. Some of the interview panel will be external interviewers, who are not employees of NCI but are engaged for the purpose and are strictly subject to the rules and policies of the College.


Applicants can request and receive access to their data at any time and can request and receive a copy of this data, in electronic/transferable format.


Applicants can request the data held be erased. In this case, the application for a position is considered withdrawn.
