Scoliosis & Spine Surgery, Registrar
Contract info: Commencing immediately up to July 2026.
The Mater Misericordiae University Hospital is seeking a motivated team member to join the spine surgery service in the National Spinal Injuries Unit in the position of Scoliosis Registrar. This role requires clinical expertise in spine surgery and a profound commitment to patient centred care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive orthopaedic care to scoliosis patients, including assessment, treatment planning, peri-operative care and surgical interventions.
- Communicate effectively with patients and their families, ensuring they are informed and supported throughout their treatment journey.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to manage the delivery of scoliosis care, addressing the unique challenges faced within the Irish healthcare system.
- Participate in clinical audits and research and contribute to continuous improvement in scoliosis care delivery.
Qualifications:
- Medical degree
- Clinical experience in spine surgery
- Demonstrated ability to engage empathetically with patients and their families, fostering trust and understanding.
- A strong understanding of the Irish healthcare system and the specific challenges associated with scoliosis care delivery.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
