AIB Finance are looking for a talented and ambitious Accountant to join our Financial Planning & Forecasting team in Finance Business Partners.

What is the Role:

As future focussed finance business partners, our objective is to support senior Leadership in the development and delivery of AIB’s strategic and financial objectives. The Planning & Forecasting team has responsibility for managing and co-ordinating financial planning and forecasting in AIB, and presentation of key information to Executive Leadership Team & AIB Board. Critical to our success is an ability to understand the business and to apply a mix of analytical, commercial and communication skills to deliver information and insights to key stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.

A vacancy now exists for the role of an Accountant in the Planning & Forecasting Finance Business Partner team.

This is an important role in delivering proactive financial management and support to the business ensuring robust financial analysis, ongoing financial performance assessment and planning & forecasting.

Key accountabilities:

  • Support in the production of the 3-year Financial Plan & Forecasts ensuring adherence with finance planning guidelines and alignment to integrated business, financial, credit and risk planning processes
  • Work closely with Finance BPs, business units and other plan stakeholders to bring together the overall AIB group financial plans and forecasts
  • Responsible for running forecast updates and assisting in the preparation of forecast presentations, including key metrics, insights and commentary for Executive Leadership Team and AIB Board
  • Perform review & challenge of forecasts and plans, carrying out analysis to provide insights on key business trends and issues
  • Other scenario and ad hoc analysis for management
  • Support the management of the onePlan system (AIB’s planning system)
  • Work with peers and colleagues across all levels, identifying and developing relationships within AIB

What you Will Bring:

  • Minimum 3 years relevant experience working in a financial services and/or other finance role with an ability to ‘hit the ground running’
  • Professional qualification (ACCA/ ACA/ CIMA or equivalent)
  • Strong relationship builder and capable of managing a range of stakeholders on a cross functional basis
  • Proven business understanding and highly developed commercial acumen
  • Ability to analyse and interpret data, to assess its value and to present the findings to the relevant stakeholders concisely, with excellent attention to detail
  • Results-oriented, with an ability to work to deadlines and act with discretion and confidentiality
  • Be motivated, enthusiastic and forward looking, positive can-do approach is a necessity
  • Excellent Excel and PowerPoint capability
