Join us as a Senior BICC Specialist
To understand, guide and support the information needs of our stakeholders. To create and support automated information models and reports. To design and build data feeds, data models (tables and views) reports and analysis that give actionable insight and add value to our business.
To champion the benefits of new knowledge and information solutions and drive adoption of the tools by decision makers. To coach and mentor others within the team and across the business.
As a key part of the data management function in Three the successful candidate will have the chance to make a difference to the business, in terms of decision making and therefore strategy, whilst growing their technical skill-set along the way
What else it involves
- ETL, Data Object design, Reporting Model & Report Design and Development
- Design and develop new data feeds, tables and views, reports and other outputs
- Impact assessment and design specification of new requirements or changes to systems as required
- Challenge requirements to ensure purpose and value of data is clear
- Co-ordinate efforts with external parties and internal stakeholders to manage the impact of changes and source issues on our outputs
- Design, develop, and implement ETL jobs sourced from multiple systems - this includes data mapping, transformation, and performance tuning across the data pipeline.
- Development of reports and other outputs
- Collaborate with business owners, technology leads and data chapter colleagues to establish the best design, data model and report model to empower business opportunities
- Mentor and challenge in house and 3rd party developers in ETL best practice and ensure all relevant standards are met
- Deliver actionable information from source data
- They should be prepared lead data engineering team delivery on projects as per business defined requirements
- Must deploy industry best practice in relation to data governance & security and police same.
- Support data platform team re ETL platform, processes and related stakeholder communication to ensure data is timely, accurate, reliable and trusted and to Identify, investigate and resolve anomalies in data
Analysis and reconciliation:
- Analysis and trending of historical data.
- Developing Key metrics to measure overall business performance and specific initiatives.
- Extensive data interrogation and validation.
- Effective presentation of results e.g. graphical representations, ad hoc reporting and analysis as required by management and other internal customers
Coaching, training and user support
- Analyst must display desire to coach, support & mentor team members and customers of the team
- End user training and consultancy on process, data, report tools and analysis
The skills we are looking for
- Advanced knowledge of SQL preferably in Google environment.
- Strong experience in ETL and data engineering for building scalable data pipelines and analytics solutions, with prefererence for:
1-Google Cloud tools ( Google Cloud Composer, Google Cloud Data Analytics Platform, BigQuery)
2-IBM InfoSphere DataStage - Reporting tool experience (Power BI most relevant).
- Very Strong numerical skills and technical data development skills
- Data warehousing & ETL experience
- Knowledge and experience working in Unix
- Ability to communicate outputs and to build relationships with stakeholders.
- Excellent knowledge of database, reporting and ETL systems, as well as commercial and business process understanding
- Knowledge of Telco business and systems an advantage
- Passion for driving business value from innovative and efficient data solutions
