What is the Role:
The Risk function’s main objective is to ensure AIB has a robust risk management framework and culture in place to ensure risks are taken within the risk appetite set by the Board, in support of AIB’s customer franchise and social responsibility.
This Change Risk role is within GroupOperational Risk where we perform Risk management for Operational Risk through the Operational Risk Framework and supporting policies, monitoring and reporting. The Change Risk team’s purpose is to provide oversight and guidance for Material Change Initiatives and support their successful and controlled delivery. This activity is delivered through a risk based approach and in line with our change risk oversight methodology and policy.
The purpose of this role is to support the work of the Head of Strategic Risk Portfolio to influence senior leaders and stakeholders to identify, measure and monitor existing and emerging Change risks. Key to this is ensuring Change Risk priorities are delivered in accordance with the Risk Appetite. The role reports to the Head of Strategic Risk Portfolio on the Change Risk Team in Operational Risk.
Key Accountabilities;
- Providing independent Change Risk oversight during prioritisation and delivery of the selected programmes and initiatives that constitute Material Change or Change Platforms in the Group;
- Acting as a Senior stakeholder that provides impartial feedback in relation to risks associated with the change implementation, in alignment to the Group Change Risk policy and the Group Change Management Framework.
- Guidance and support with the management of Change Risk, throughout the Change life cycle, as applicable for both Waterfall and Agile change methodologies.
- Exercising sound judgement on key Change Risk matters, and engaging Risk SMEs from other areas across Group Risk, for other Risk matters affected as a result of the Change implementation.
- Relevant reporting and/or escalations (where required) on Change Risk and/or Change Risk Policy compliance to appropriate governance bodies, including the Group Change Committee, and Operational Risk Committee.
- Authoring or co-authoring relevant Second line Risk opinion papers that outline Risk opinion on the above and other matters.
- Steering representation either directly, or through other colleagues on the Change Risk team, as appropriate.
In addition, you will be involved in the continuous improvement of the Change Risk function and will be given an opportunity to influence our processes and policy. As the Second Line Oversight role, we welcome the challenge and thinking outside the box!
