A panel may be formed as a result of this process from which subsequent Senior Community Facilitator Appointments within the Clonard/West Roscommon Services will be made over the next 6 months.

Location:

Assignment to County Roscommon, initially based in the Castlerea area. Future developments within the services may require that you are prepared to transfer to other work locations as the service needs demand.

The Role:

  • Be a mentor and role model for a man with autism and behaviour that challenges
  • Implement tailored support strategies which require calm and consistent approaches Support this man to reduce barriers caused by Autism and challenging behaviours, helping him to engage in meaningful activities and relationships. Assist this man to learn new skills and support the implementation of his wishes and dreams
  • To assist you in this role, you will work as part of the person’s staff team and will be supported by a multidisciplinary team to facilitate person centred life planning. This will include guidance, training and supervision from the Behaviour Support Services in positive behaviour support.
  • We are looking for motivated innovative team players, interested in building environments that allow people supported to live their best lives.

Qualifications, Experience & Skills:

Each candidate should possess the following qualifications and experience:

  • Candidates should have at least QQI Level 7 qualification relevant to the Social Care sector, Therapy Assistant, Community Development, Creative Digital Media, Creative Arts, Arts and Design i.e. Pottery, Ceramics, Craft Textiles
  • A qualification in Applied Behaviour Analysis (Positive Behaviour Support) is desirable.
  • Experience of working in a person-centred service supporting people with intellectual disabilities, and supporting individual with challenging behaviour is essential.
  • At least 2-3 years previous experience in designing and implementing programmes to enable them to carry out successfully the duties of the post together with an appreciation of the needs of persons with an intellectual disability is desirable. Training will be provided.
  • A full clean manual Driving Licence, which qualifies you to drive manual transmission vehicles on Irish Roads and use of your own car is an essential requirement. It may also be necessary for the appointee to obtain a Class D1 Driving Licence (if not already in possession of one). Assistance will be given towards this purpose of obtaining a class D1 licence.
  • Candidates should be proficient in I.T. Skills i.e. ability to use computers, modern technology, on-line system and assistive technology.
  • Fluency in verbal and written English is an essential requirement of this post.
  • The successful candidate should have good team working skills and be able to demonstrate creativity, positivity and enthusiasm in their role.

Skills:

  • Be quality driven in approach and demonstrate good leadership and direction in the provision of high standards in line with Personal Outcomes and New Directions model of service delivery.
  • Actively support and empower each individual and their keyworker in their endeavours to achieve priority goals in their Personal Outcome Measures.
  • Be positive, flexible and creative in your approach with an enthusiasm and commitment to ensuring a person centred philosophy.
  • Ability to exercise good judgement and use initiative in problem solving.
  • Excellent organisational and planning skills to implement and support quality initiatives in the development of day services.

Working Hours:

  • 1 x Permanent Full Time X 78 hours a fortnight rostered Monday to Friday.

Contracted hours of work are liable to change from 8am to 8pm to meet the requirements of the programme.

Corlann model of service is based on Personal Outcome Measures requiring employees to be flexible in their working hours and any changes in rostering in the future to provide a quality service delivery for each person supported.

Annual Leave:

22 days per annum (pro-rata for part-time), i.e. 8.46 hours per 100 hours worked.

Remuneration:

€40,521 x 8 increments - €51, 286 (Max) per annum pro-rata (Department of Health Senior Instructor/Supervisor Grade as at 01/08/2025). LSI 1 €52,947 per annum pro-rata is paid after 3 years on the maximum of the scale. LSI 2 €54,705 per annum pro-rata is paid after a further 3 years.

Tenure:

Permanent Full-time and pensionable.
