We are seeking an enthusiastic, highly motivated and organised colleague to join our Talent Development & Engagement team. This role will be responsible for leading and driving topics forward specifically covering the areas of:

  • Engagement
  • DE&B
  • Culture & Leadership
  • CSR HR

We are looking for someone who can effectively embed, drive, support, and measure a values driven culture across the business, from stores and distribution centres, to our head office. This role ensures that our collective behaviours and internal processes align with our core values (Performance, Respect, Trust, Grounded, Belonging), driving high employee engagement, productivity, and retention in a fast-paced retail environment.

What you'll do

The Role:

  • Develop and implement strategies to increase employee retention and motivation, and to promote a positive working environment and culture
  • Drive the development and execution of initiatives aimed at enhancing employee satisfaction, including surveys, events, and leadership values.
  • Ensure the implementation and adherence to international standards, policies, and projects within a national context, covering engagement, CSR HR, Diversity, Equity & Belonging, and Leadership.
  • Coordinate, communicate, and provide (process) consulting on all relevant topics, including legal requirements with regards to sustainability legislation and reporting obligations
  • Mentor and develop team members, foster a culture of continuous improvement, and act as a key advisor to senior leaders on all matters related to culture and engagement.
  • Design and implement measures to increase overall employee engagement
  • Conception, organisation and implementation of training and awareness-raising measures 
  • Fulfill all information and reporting obligations in accordance with international requirements.

Scope of responsibility:

  • Define, develop, and lead the overarching strategy for culture and engagement across Lidl IE/NIE
  • Responsibility for building and leading a team to achieve
  • Responsibility for managing budgets for all Engagement initiatives including ERGs and Sports & Social
  • Responsibility for increasing employee engagement and fostering a positive, forward-thinking work environment, and collaborative culture
  • Responsibility for strengthening an inclusive and value-oriented corporate culture
  • Responsibility for ensuring compliance with external reporting obligations and legal requirements relating to our sustainability and diversity, equity & belonging initiatives
  • Responsibility for the implementation of occupational health management

  • CSR HR Goals
  • Employee Satisfaction and Retention Rate
  • Employee Survey Engagement and Completion Rate
  • Turnover rate
  • Sickness rate
  • Leadership

Position-specific requirements:

  • Proven experience in developing and implementing strategies, concepts and measures, ideally linked to increasing employee retention
  • Proven ability to drive strategic alignment across the business by effectively influencing senior stakeholders
  • Thorough HR industry knowledge, especially on CSR, employee engagement, corporate culture, diversity, equity & belonging, and leadership
  • Understanding of all HR areas and the ability to work effectively and influence across all business functions

What you'll need

  • Highly organised and self-motivated
  • Leadership experience essential
  • Minimum 3-4 years experience in similar HR field
  • Strong presentation/facilitation skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proven ability to influence key stakeholders at a senior level
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Proficient in Google Workspace
  • Fluent in both written and spoken English
