What is the Role
As a Senior Data Analyst, you will be a key member of the BI Infrastructure team, responsible for helping ensure that enterprise reporting, analytics, and data consumption platforms are built on robust, scalable, and well‑governed data foundations.
Working closely with BI engineers, platform teams, and business stakeholders, the role focuses on analysing data usage, performance, and patterns to drive optimisation, reliability, and value across the BI ecosystem.
The role operates at the intersection of data, platforms, and governance, providing insight and direction that enables the wider organisation to use data confidently and efficiently.
Key Accountabilities
- Analyse and monitor enterprise BI and analytics workloads, including data volumes, query patterns, performance trends, and usage behaviours across reporting platforms.
- Work in partnership with BI Infrastructure engineering teams to identify optimisation opportunities across data pipelines, semantic models, storage layers, and access patterns.
- Provide analytical input to platform‑related decisions, including capacity planning, workload management, cost optimisation, and tooling strategy.
- Develop and maintain dashboards and analytical assets that provide transparency into BI platform health, usage, and performance.
- Support data governance and assurance activities by analysing lineage, data quality metrics, access patterns, and compliance indicators.
- Act as a trusted analytical partner to BI product owners, architects, and delivery teams, translating technical data into clear, actionable insights and recommendations.
- Investigate and diagnose data‑related incidents or anomalies, contributing to root‑cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Contribute to the development of standards, best practices, and documentation for BI infrastructure analytics and reporting.
- Support the development of junior analysts and contribute to knowledge sharing across the BI Infrastructure team
What You Will Bring
- Demonstrable experience in analytics, ideally within Financial Services or other regulated environments (experience in equivalent domains will also be considered).
- Proven experience designing and delivering end‑to‑end data and analytics solutions using Microsoft Fabric — including data warehouses, lakehouses, pipelines, and governance frameworks — with robust security, compliance, and operational best practices built in
- Strong SQL and Python skills, with experience analysing large and complex datasets.
- Ability to translate technical metrics into actionable insights for both technical and non‑technical audiences.
- Strong analytical thinking, problem‑solving skills, and attention to detail.
- Effective communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
