OVERVIEW

  • Job Title & Grade – Senior Dietitian
  • Tenure – The current vacancy available is a Permanent, full-time Senior Dietitian Role (potential option for part-time role)
  • Hours of Work – 35 Hours per week (part time 17.5 hours per week) – the allocation of these hours will be at the discretion of the Department Head and in accordance with needs of service
  • Department – Dietetics
  • Location of Post - Peamount Healthcare, Newcastle, Co. Dublin
  • Working Model - Fully Onsite
  • Remuneration - *Current salary scale with effect from 1st June 2026: € 65,197 (point 1) to € 76,767 (point 9 Max Point).
  • Annual Leave - As per Health Service Executive (HSE)
  • Closing Date – Thursday October 1st 2026 @ 11.45pm
  • Proposed Interview Date - Friday 16th October - Shortlisted candidates are expected to make themselves available for an in-person interview.
  • Take Up Appointment - Successful applicant(s) must be available to take up the role within a reasonable timeframe
  • Reporting Relationship – Dietitian Manager
  • Panel - A panel may be formed for this role for a maximum of 1 year

PURPOSE OF THE POST

To work with in collaboration with the dietitian manager, dietitian colleagues, HSCP’s and healthcare staff in Peamount Healthcare to ensure the coordination, development and delivery of a quality, person centred nutrition and dietetic service to meet the needs of service users and the objectives of the organisation that is in keeping with best practice and standards. The senior dietitian will be responsible for the provision and delivery of a high quality nutrition and dietetic service within the designated clinical area and will carry out clinical, educational, leadership and administrative duties as required.

POINT ON SALARY SCALE

New appointees coming from the private sector will be placed on the minimum point of the scale (*exceptions may apply for the below grades, provided proof of recognised service is submitted by VOS)

  • *Clinical and Therapy Grades and Staff Nurses*: Incremental credit may be applied for recognised relevant service in Ireland and abroad (Department of Health Circular 2/2011) in the Civil Service, local authorities, public service, health service and other public service bodies and statutory agencies.
