About the roleWe are seeking a skilled and experienced ecologist to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be looking to further their career and gain invaluable experience across a wide range of projects.
You will be responsible for managing large-scale ecological survey programs across Ireland. You will ensure efficient project delivery, and perform complex data analysis, including GIS usage. You will also prepare specialist ecological reports and provide technical advice to address project-related risks and concern.
About youYou will carry out ecological surveys, management and delivery of ecological impact assessments. You will provide pragmatic, commercially aware ecological advice to our clients by preparing clear and concise reports and recommendations. You will be responsible for creating tenders and team SOP’s. Having a single area of expertise such as terrestrial will of benefit.
Skills & experienceBachelor’s degree in ecology, natural science, or related biological discipline (postgraduate degree desirable)
5-7 years' experience in environmental consultancy or similar
Previous consultancy experience
Experience in managing budgets is preferrable
Previous experience in mentoring and coaching junior staff
Excellent botanical and habitat assessment skills
Full or eligible for full membership of Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management
Strong knowledge of ecological legislation
Experience in habitat and species survey design and implementation
Use of Salesforce is advantageous
Proven track record managing EcIA and AA for large projects
Strong problem-solving, communication, and mentoring skills
Excellent report writing skills and proven project management abilities
