Role Profile:
The Senior EH&S Compliance Manager reports to the Head of EH&S and ensures our operations comply with all legal, regulatory, and company requirements related to EH&S. This role collaborates with our operations teams supporting EH&S site leads to ensure the success of all EH&S systems and standards while driving and promoting continuous improvement.
The role is responsible for leading and embedding our EH&S policies and standards within the business, ensuring their successful application. The Senior EH&S Compliance Manager will verify site compliance through a defined internal audit process and coordinate EH&S data reported through the network 3M structure, reporting to the Head of EH&S on performance.
Additionally, the role acts as the central liaison with external networks such as the EPA, Irish Water, H.S.A, or any other required bodies, in conjunction with the Head of EH&S. The Senior EH&S Compliance Manager also plays a wider leadership role as part of the Quality & Compliance Leadership Team.
Responsibilities
- Health and Safety First, Food Safety Always, Compliance Every day to lead (develop & manage) the Zero Harm culture across Tirlán and ensure a management led approach, embed a culture of continuous EHS improvement sharing and replication of best practice.
- Track and develop trends for common causes of incidents at plants, mills, retail branches and all other sites across Tirlán, to inform and drive programmes for improved procedures.
- Live the Tirlán PVV, coaching mentality, and foster positive intent in Ways of Working (WOW)
- Ensure regulatory compliance readiness and a strong understanding of relevant regulations impacting our Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) agenda.
- Lead the Tirlán 3M process for the EH&S compliance network team.
- Assist in developing and embedding the Tirlán Environmental Health & Safety Compliance Strategy.
- Define and lead EH&S compliance programs.
- Collaborate with Operations & Supply Chain to enable EH&S compliance programs and support strategic compliance projects.
- Foster strong collaboration across the business and with internal & external stakeholders.
- Work with site teams on continuous improvement, COVI, and developing tomorrow projects.
- Verify EH&S systems to ensure compliance with Tirlán, licence, and regulatory standards.
- Support the EH&S NT in closing internal audit findings
- Capture key learnings across the group for focused improvement, standard development, training, and shared learnings.
- Identify, create, and deliver relevant EH&S training to develop a strong EH&S Network Team Culture.
- Enable & Ensure maintenance of certification to relevant ISO standards at all Tirlán sites.
- Develop and implement EH&S standards, policies, and procedures across the business.
- Support the RCA process for investigating accidents, incidents, and near misses, ensuring appropriate shared learnings.
- Promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement in health and safety practices.
- Conduct site visits as required to support EH&S function.
Key Requirements
- Engineering &/or Science based qualification.
- A high-calibre expertise with strong risk awareness and organisational savvy.
- Minimum 5+ years relevant work experience in an EHS role at a senior level.
- Experience in agricultural, food & dairy industries!
- Previous experience in Operations, Process / System Auditing, EHS Standards & Regulations
- Strong collaboration is a key success factor in the role across our entire business and with our external stakeholders.
