Senior Environmental Health Officer

Job Summary
The postholder will be responsible to the Head of Environmental Health of their section, to ensure the service meets the Council’s responsibilities efficiently, effectively and economically. You will be responsible for supervising, enforcing, advising and giving guidance on environmental health matters within your area of responsibility, in accordance with relevant legislation and good professional practice. The duties will include all those of District Environmental Health officers with regard to these functions.

Hours of work
36 hours per week.

Duration of Appointment 
Permanent.

Work Pattern
Flexi 36 hours Monday to Friday. 
Hours of work are kept under review and may change in order to meet operational requirements, providing requisite notice.

Location 
Downshire Civic Centre, Downpatrick or Greenbank, Newry.
The post holder may be required to transfer to other locations in accordance with any requirements stated in the Job Description, any reviews of service delivery or other requirements as may arise from time to time. Any amendments made to work location will be implemented following appropriate consultation and provision of reasonable notice.

Salary 
​​​​​​​Scale PO3, SCP 34 - 37, currently £45,091 - £48,226 per annum based on a 36-hour week (pro rata to hours worked), plus 15.5% employer pension contribution.
