Join us as a Senior Finance Business Partner - Agile

This role is responsible for delivering high‑quality, decision‑oriented financial insights across an agile operating model, with structured reporting by Tribe, Segment and Chapter.

The role acts as a strategic finance partner to business leaders, translating financial data into actionable insights, and owning the allocation of costs to segments to ensure profitability, transparency, and accountability across the organisation.
This is a forward‑looking role focused on value creation, commercial understanding, and informed decision‑making, rather than retrospective reporting.

What else it involves:

  • Agile Finance Partnering
  • Act as a finance partner to Tribe Leads, Chapter Leads and Product Owners, embedded in agile ways of working.
  • Participate in planning cycles (e.g. quarterly planning, sprint reviews, QBRs) providing financial insight and challenge.
  • Support agile forecasting, rolling outlooks, and scenario analysis at Tribe and Segment level.
  • Enable Tribes to understand financial consequences of delivery choices.
  • Act as a bridge between agile finance partnering and traditional finance functions, ensuring alignment between insight‑led reporting and core financials.
  • Work closely with Finance CoE to:
Ensure Tribe, Segment and Chapter views reconcile to traditional reporting.
Translate traditional financial outputs into insight‑driven views suitable for agile decision‑making.
Align assumptions, allocation methodologies and performance narratives.
  • Influence and challenge constructively across finance teams to evolve finance ways of working without undermining control, accuracy or governance.
  • Support traditional finance partners in understanding agile constructs (Tribes, Chapters, Squads, value streams) and how financial performance is measured within them.

Financial Insights & Decision Support

  • Produce clear, timely and insightful financial analysis to support decision‑making at Tribe, Segment and Chapter level.
  • Move beyond “month‑end reporting” to explain drivers of performance, trends, risks and opportunities.
  • Present insights in a way that is easily understood by non‑finance stakeholders.

Reporting & Performance Management

  • Develop and maintain consistent Tribe, Segment and Chapter reporting frameworks.
  • Ensure financial views reconcile to core financials while still being fit‑for‑purpose for agile decision‑making.
  • Define and track key financial KPIs relevant to agile delivery and segment performance.
  • Support senior leadership with packs, deep dives and narrative explanations.

Segment Profitability & Cost Allocation

  • Own and continuously improve the allocation of costs to segments, ensuring allocations are logical, consistent, and economically meaningful.
  • Apply strong judgement in determining allocation methodologies (e.g. drivers, usage‑based, benefit‑based).
  • Clearly articulate and document assumptions, methodologies and impacts of cost allocations.
  • Ensure segment profitability views are robust and trusted by senior stakeholders.
  • Ensure cost allocation approaches are understood, supported and operationally feasible for accounting and reporting teams.
  • Partner with Finance COE partners to ensure allocation logic is:
  • Auditable and explainable
  • Consistently applied
  • Sustainable over time
  • Balance the needs of agile insight with the requirements of financial control and compliance.

Governance & Continuous Improvement

  • Ensure financial insights and allocations comply with internal governance and accounting standards.
  • Continuously improve data quality, transparency and automation of reporting.
  • Work closely with Finance CoE partners to align insights with traditional reporting.
  • Promote strong financial literacy across Segments,Tribes and Chapters.

  • Collaboration skills to work across a wide variety of teams with diverse deliverables.
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines and multiple requests.
  • Ability to present financial data to non-financial people in a clear concise manner.
  • Advanced financial modelling and scenario analysis capability.
  • Experience influencing senior leaders.
  • Self-motivated, comfortable working independently and self-driven.

Desirable:

  • Experience working in or alongside agile operating models (Tribes, Squads, Chapters or similar).
  • Experience working with cost allocation and profitability models, ideally by segment or business unit.
  • Exposure to product‑led, customer‑segment or value‑stream based financial views.

Ways of Working & Mindset:

  • Insight‑driven, curious and outcome‑focused.
  • Comfortable with evolving structures.
  • Pragmatic: balances financial rigour with business reality.
  • Confident challenger who can explain “why” behind the numbers.
