Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity to lead a key commercial business unit and product at Dublin Airport, as Senior Food & Beverage (F&B) Concessions Manager. F&B is recognised as a key driver of passenger satisfaction at the airport and in recent years we have embarked on a journey to transform the F&B experience at Dublin Airport, bringing more range, choice, value and quality to our passengers.

The Senior Food & Beverage Concessions Manager is a key role reporting into the Head of Commercial B2B. This role is integral to the performance of the Commercial Team managing a significant annual revenue portfolio.

The key purpose of this role is to lead a multi-year F&B strategy to position Dublin Airport as a provider of a world class Food & Beverage experience as part of the passenger journey.

The successful candidate will lead the F&B team (operations and strategy), work closely with our F&B concessionaire partners to drive the transformation and future development of this business, bringing new offerings and concepts to life for our passengers ensuring we are constantly innovating, keeping offers fresh, in line with trends and growing income from our F&B product.

The successful candidate will be a self starter, drive innovation in approach and possess leadership skills to drive a high performing team. They will have a results oriented mindset and be relentless in their ambition to deliver a world class experience for our passengers.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Commercial Manager to Lead the F&B Concessions Portfolio at Dublin Airport and be a key member of a high performing commercial team. 

Responsibility

Implement and evolve the F&B vision and strategy to grow the business strategically by leading and delivering on the following:

  • Develop and lead a multi-year strategy for F&B ensuring the team delivers budget, growth, and key transformational milestones.
  • Manage the budget for F&B and deliver commercial targets.
  • Drive future growth in F&B through the implementation of existing strategies while developing new ones to drive new revenue streams and F&B offers, ensuring the F&B product is responsive to changing passenger demands and continues to grow Dublin Airport’s annual income from F&B.
  • Own the F&B product, design and manage the customer food journey in line with the F&B vision, engaging with industry experts and concessionaire partners to keep offerings fresh and aligned with trends.
  • Develop and implement contract management structures and processes to ensure the efficient operation and performance of F&B Concessions Contracts at Dublin Airport.
  • Develop, influence and maintain business relationship with key concessionaires ensuring effective engagement and performance management to deliver a quality F&B product at Dublin Airport.
  • Run largescale, competitive tender processes for contract renewals and new F&B opportunities designing optimal packages of units to bring to the market to transform the F&B experience and deliver optimal value for Dublin Airport (From pre-tender engagement to contract negotiation).
  • Ensure the successful project management and delivery of the F&B Transformation programme, including onboarding new contracts/operators, fit out coordination and market promotion of new units and concepts. 
  • Lead a high performing, motivated team fostering retention by supporting development through career planning and coaching and ensuring appropriate team structures and supports are in place.
  • Partner with key internal stakeholders (Procurement, Infrastructure, Legal, Finance etc) to support the needs of the business and where appropriate challenge the status quo to deliver on F&B objectives.
  • Present monthly/quarterly on the financial performance, product performance, strategy implementation, fit out programmes and future plans including Executive & Board updates.
  • Establish a strong working relationship with the Senior Commercial Concessions Manager to collectively deliver on the overall Commercial B2B objectives.
  • Represent F&B’s interest in future strategy planning with the wider daa group ensuring appropriate space and facilities to grow the F&B product.
  • Ensure alignment with the daa strategy.
  • Champion the future of the business, with a tireless ambition to deliver a new vibrant strategic vison for F&B

Qualifications

Experience

  • A minimum of five years post graduate experience in a relevant field is essential
  • Extensive knowledge of a similar scale concession business highly desirable but not essential.

Skills

  • Commercially driven with strong business acumen.
  • Proven project management skills and experience.
  • Highly organised, strong communicator with excellent presentation skills.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills capable of dealing with colleagues and customers at every level.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills confident in establishing and maintaining strong relationships at all organisation levels.
  • Proven negotiation skills combined with practical problem-solving skills.
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate a high performing team.
  • Ability to work in a challenging environment both on own initiative and as part of a team.
  • Able to effectively handle conflicting priorities and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment is crucial.
  • Personal drive and enthusiasm to grow the business whilst creating a world class customer experience.
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications is required.
  • Strong analytical, numeracy and reasoning skills.
  • Committed to daa values.

Education & Qualifications 

  • Third level qualification in a business or strategy related discipline.
