Applications (c.v.s) are invited for SHO posts in Obstetrics/Gynaecology for January 2027 Intake in Portiuncula University Hospital:

Commencement Date – 11/01/2027

Contract Type:

Fixed Term, Wholetime

Candidates must have the following:

- Medical Degree

- Active Registration with the Irish Medical Council - Applications with IMC pending or in final stages will be disqualified

- Valid up to date ACLS Certificate

- Have Passed the IELTS / OET Exam if applicable. All NCHDs taking up employment with the HSE who were not registered by the Medical Council in any divisions of the Register of Medical Practitioners prior to the 01/01/2015, or who did not complete the entirety of their under-graduate medical training in the Republic of Ireland, are required to provide evidence of IELTS or OET or completion of their medical degree in any of the following countries – UK, Australia, Canada, New Zealand or United States.

Essential Knowledge/Experience

• Possess adequate relevant work experience
• Possess sufficient clinical knowledge to perform the job at a satisfactory level of competence.
• Have an understanding of the role of a Senior House Officer.
• Have an awareness of Health, Safety and Risk Management.
