The implementation of HSE Health Regions involves the internal reorganisation of HSE into six operational regions with the objective of realigning the incentives and drivers present within our health and social care system so that it is directed more towards providing care for people closer to home and keeping people healthy and well. It also aims to enable a coherent population-based approach to service planning and delivery, where care is planned and funded in line with people’s needs at regional and local level.

Digital technologies offer significant potential to transform healthcare, improving access, quality, and cost-efficiency. Empowering staff with digital tools and skills to deliver better healthcare is the cornerstone of transformation in the South West region especially in today’s face-paced digital era.

The HSE’s Digital for Care 2030 is the Framework sets out a roadmap to digitally transform health services and provides a strategic and innovative plan to advance key Sláintecare programmes.

Purpose of Post

To ensure delivery of major ICT enabled change programmes. This will include ensuring the services effect change to ensure the business benefits are delivered.

• The successful candidate will lead, drive and implement effective Digital Health solutions and service transformation at the front line of care and enabling operations such as Finance, HR and eRostering on behalf of the South West Region.
• ·They will work with nationally lead projects such as Community Connect, Shared Care Record, National EHR and others as required. Projects can span the whole solution lifecycle from inception through approval, implementation and ongoing optimisation.
• The Senior ICT Project Manager will work on multiple projects aimed at improving effectiveness, safety and efficiency of patient care. These projects typically involve integrating technology within clinical practice and operational procedures.
