As an Senior Java Developer, you will be responsible for all technical aspects as they relate to the specific team to which you are assigned; including providing support and guidance for technical changes, undertaking necessary research into new and emerging technologies and assessing how they can influence and drive the technology direction for the team.

This specialist role will ensure there is a central point of contact and consistency for the design approach of all Projects and will work closely with Project teams to ensure that solutions are `fit for purpose¿ and `best in class¿; meeting key commercial and strategic initiatives of the bank.


Responsibilities:

  • Support Analysis of business requirements from a technical point of view and drive the technical direction of the project that best support¿s the business requirements and overall IT architecture and strategy
  • Interpret Business Requirements to deliver Functional Specifications to support delivery of IT solution
  • Deliver Technical Specifications in line with design standards that accurately detail the technical solutions to be implemented and supported on Bank IT systems
  • Complete development assignments such that programs support the approved project requirements and follow the agreed upon Functional and Technical Design
  • Deliver assignments to agreed Quality standards and to the Project standards and procedures employed in the department
  • Conduct design and code reviews; comfortable in conducting QA reviews of development tasks and coded solutions

Requirements:

  • Have an ability to contribute strongly to a highly motivated team working to tight deadlines and to work on own initiative.
  • Proven design and development experience in any of; Java, Delphi, Ingres applications.
  • Strong analytical, design and development skills with a clear and concise understanding of all aspects of a Development lifecycle
  • Excellent communication skills - effective verbal and written communication skills of both technical and business nature
  • Effective interpersonal and teamwork skills
  • Excellent self-starter with the capability to show drive and resilience to take initiative in a demanding environment Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Work in a professional manner at all times, adhering to IT standards and policies and demonstrates a positive `can do¿ attitude
  • Ability to focus on the customer and deliver to deadlines
  • High levels of leadership, dependability, flexibility, enthusiasm, commitment, supportiveness, involvement, openness and clarity
  • Excellent technical acumen and problem solving skills
  • An ability to learn and understand complex business and IT systems and processes

  • Ability to focus on the customer and deliver to deadlines
  • Contribute to the Bank IT goals of Quality Delivery, Efficiency, Innovation, Continuous Improvement and Customer service.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with the business to ensure supply and demand issues are completed in line with agreed standards.
  • Support the business in the development of new initiatives.

Risk & Control

  • Ensure that Risks are identified and addressed in a proactive manner and all work practices and processes are fully compliant with Company policies and its Regulatory requirements.

This is a permanent role based in Dublin (Hybrid).
