The Role

Almac Diagnostic Services are currently running a proactive SeniorLaboratory Technicians and Laboratory Technicians campaign to enable us to fill roles as they become available. These roles will be based in our global high-tech laboratories in Craigavon.

Our Senior Laboratory Techniciansare kept busy by providing support to their direct Operations manager by performing, monitoring and accepting full accountability for all assigned duties associated with the role. This includes scheduling work, deputising for the team leader leader/operations manager as required, commissioning and maintenance of equipment, and receipt of consumables and reagents. They also train and mentor junior staff, problem solve and troubleshoot, and participate in customer audits. To be successful as a Senior Laboratory Technician at Almac Diagnostic Services, you will need to have strong lab skills including a high level of accuracy, ability to manage timescales, and ability to prioritise and plan a high-volume varied workload. You will need A-Level (or equivalent) within a science discipline & experience of biological sample handling & processing

Our Laboratory Technicians are kept busy with daily tasks including receipt and accessioning of clinical sample information onto the LIMS system, and performing initial analytical duties. To be successful as a Laboratory Technician at Almac Diagnostic Services, you will need to have strong lab skills including a high level of accuracy, ability to manage timescales, and ability to prioritise and plan a high-volume varied workload. You will need some previous practical laboratory experience too – this can either be gained during practical work at university or in a previous work setting. All candidates will require GCSE at grades A-C (or equivalent level qualifications) in Science, English, and Maths.
