MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB- Providing a strong customer-focused and customer-driven facility.
- Efficient and effective supervision of the day-to-day operation of Crumlin Leisure Centre.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervise and assist customers throughout the leisure centre to ensure their safe and enjoyable use of the facilities (indoor and outdoor) and involvement in activities. Undertake full receptionist duties including cash handling, lodgement and reconciliation of monies. Operate associated IT and administrative systems, waiting lists, display systems, membership sales, and customer relationship correspondence. Carry out fitness instruction, induction sessions, and fitness testing for new and existing users. Promote the safe use of all fitness suite equipment. Attend regular staff training specific to health and safety, evacuation procedures, and all other essential and corporate training. Allocate duties to staff, supervising work to ensure cleanliness and service needs are met. Actively participate in the achievement of quality accreditations such as QUEST. Complete all necessary documentation pertaining to the post, such as safety checklists, customer comments, and accident and incident reports. Provide a high level of internal and external customer service, including taking ownership of customer queries, complaints, booking enquiries, and related administration to ensure high customer and service standard provision. Actively promote events, facilities, and leisure memberships to potential and existing customers. Contribute to membership campaigns, schemes, and offers, including: Ensure a comprehensive cleaning programme and fault-reporting procedure is in place and implemented. Carry out set-ups and cleaning duties throughout the complex on a regular and ongoing basis, maintaining the highest standards at all times. Assist with the implementation of Normal Operating Procedures, Risk Assessments, Emergency Action Plans, and the COSHH register. Control stock and supplies, receive orders and deliveries, and maintain inventory of materials and equipment for the Leisure Centre. Ensure high standards in the preparation, set-up, and recovery of equipment, both indoor and outdoor. Prepare areas, assist at events, functions, and activities, provide refreshments as required, and ensure stores and areas are tidy and clean. Deputise for the Duty Manager as the responsible person on site, performing opening and lock-up duties and responding to call-outs as required. GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Demonstrate a team approach to achieving the objectives of the Section through full flexibility in relation to tasks undertaken. Provide a high level of internal and external customer service, including taking ownership of customer queries and complaints and following issues through to completion. Continuously develop personal knowledge and skills to enhance internal and external customer service. Comply with, and ensure that other staff comply with, the Council's policies and procedures, including those relating to health, safety, wellbeing, and safeguarding. Promote equality and diversity across all service areas through clear leadership, effective policy implementation, and demonstrating appropriate behaviours in line with Council values. Carry out any other relevant duties that may be assigned, including working in other sections of the Department and Council. QUALIFICATIONS
- Recognised Level 2 fitness qualification.
EXPERIENCE
- Minimum 6 months' experience working in a leisure environment.
- Minimum 3 months' experience working with the public in a customer service environment.

SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE
- Competent in the use of Windows applications and Microsoft Office, including Word, Outlook, and Excel.

- Available to open the centre for early shifts and lock up the centre after late shifts.
- Available to respond to ad hoc out-of-hours emergencies.
